Budgeting for your Health and Wellness Massage with Hands On Health
With 2018 just around the corner, many of you may be scanning through your company’s updated benefits package. Below are just a few of the ways to stretch your dollar! FSA – Flexible Spending Account: It’s an account where you contribute money from your salary BEFORE taxes are withheld then get reimbursed for your out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses. With most FSA you receive a ‘debit card’. You can simply swipe this card to pay for your massage at Hands On Health.
Wellness Benefits: Some companies reward their employees for taking steps to better health. Check with your HR to see if your company has a participating plan! Companies are realizing if their employees are taking care of themselves with preventative measures like exercising, eating right, wellness check-ups, stress reduction, and wellness based treatments like massage; their employees are taking fewer sick days and having less injuries.
Auto Accident Claims: If your doctor has referred you to Hands On Health for massage due to an Auto Accident, you may receive reimbursement for your treatments. Payments are due at the time of your visit with Hands On Health, but we are happy to provide you with a receipt to turn into your insurance company for reimbursement.
Doctor Referral for Massage:
If your doctor has referred you to seek massage for pain relief, some insurance plans will reimburse a portion. Please remember, insurance companies need documentation of a few things…..
- Doctor’s diagnosis code (written by doctor and typically found on prescription pad under ICD-10)
- # of massage sessions needed/week and total number of weeks
Or your doctor may only write a diagnosis code and the name of the diagnosis
Hands On Health Series: You pre-pay for a package of massage. The great thing about this option is no paperwork!! 🙂 And, you can share your massage series with friends and family. Hands On Health keeps track of their usage & can provide receipts for you.
